Event description

This event kicks off Fire Prevention Week (October 3-10), which this year focuses on “Using Your Charging Super Powers” to highlight safe charging habits for the lithium-ion batteries in your home.

The Firehall Open House runs from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3 at Fire Hall No. 4, 11240 238 St.

This free family-friendly event will feature:

  1. Hands-on activities and safety demonstrations
  2. Fire prevention resources and practical tips for the home
  3. Emergency preparedness information
  4. A by-donation BBQ lunch hosted by the Maple Ridge Firefighters’ Charitable Society
  5. Pizza served by Panago Pizza (located at 22441 Dewdney Trunk Road)
  6. Prizes and giveaways
  7. Special appearances by Maple Ridge RCMP Safety Bear and Sparky the Fire Safety Dog

This event is a chance for families to have fun, connect with their local firefighters and learn simple safety habits they can use right away.
